Lazy Labor Day Weekend

Saturday afternoon I joined a local knitting club. I finally made the jump and packed up my knitting things, because the weekend meetings are just two miles from home. Some of the women there have been knitting for more than 40 years! I was super nervous and probably ate more than my fair share of the mini candy bars at the table.

In the end, there was nothing to worry about – everyone was very sweet and welcoming. I’ll be returning next week for a Knit Along (where everyone does the same project).

Since my husband was in Denver most of the weekend, I spent lots of time with my dog in the yard. We watched birds, played fetch, and went on walks.

I’ve been going nuts with my julienne vegetable peeler the past few weeks. This weekend I made squashoodles with tomatoes and onions in a garlic butter sauce. After some experimentation, I’m going to stick to zoodles and yellow squashoodles as they are the most noodle-like.

When my husband arrived home, nobody was in the mood for cooking so we had pizza and tacos and burgers for the rest of the weekend. This was truly the laziest holiday I’ve enjoyed in a long time and I’m ready to get back in the game this week.
